  • Intro

We are the Hernandez family and we are in desperate need of your help. We are currently rebuilding after a house fire that shook our lives. We were unprepared for this life-changing event, but our family is strong and, thank God, we all survived, and through His strength we will get through this.

    So what happened

A few weeks ago we suffered a terrible house fire. An electrical short in an outlet erupted into a full-blown blaze within a matter of minutes. Our family survived, and our amazing fire department arrived within minutes, getting the fire under control. Sadly we could only stand there helplessly hearing our beloved pets as the raging inferno was taking them from us.

Unfortunately, most everything inside was damaged or destroyed. When we were finally allowed to re-enter the property the first thing we did was searched for our pets, hoping beyond hope that they somehow survived, but it was not to be.

    Where we are now

Fortunately the support of our community helped us a lot. Our employer allowed us to move into a temporary apartment while we rebuild, and countless volunteers donated their time and material goods to help us. But the cost of repairs are mounting quickly, placing us in desperate need of your assistance. And unfortunately, we have learned too late how important it is to have fire insurance.

    What you can do

We desperately are in need of financial help. Any amount will be greatly appreciated, and no amount is too small. We have so much to replace, from appliances to clothing to beds and walls. Please consider helping us to get back onto our feet.

May the Lord bless you and your loved ones and keep you all safe, and we pray that none of you ever have to go through what we are enduring. Thank you for reading our plea.

    A house on fire

It was Tuesday, just days before spring.  A nor'easter was just hours away, and we were just running some final errands before the storm hit.  We were gone for just a few minutes with our son called us franticly.  Our home was on fire.  Smoke was billowing from the basement flooding the house while the screams of smoke detectors piered the air.  We lost a lot on this day, but fortunately our family all survived.

    Rebuilding begins

With the help of friends and family, we have begun salvaging what we can.   Unfortunately it appears that we lost more than we can save.  Even the kids are helping by ripping down burned walls.  A depressing and hopeful day it is.
