Start a Campaign

Did You Know

Campaigns that set a goal of between $50,000-$75,000 raise more money on average than campaigns that set a goal of $100,000.

Once a campaign reaches 10% of its goal, the likelihood that it will succeed quadruples.

87% of campaigns that reach their goal surpass it on average of about 31%.

When creating a new campaign, detailed planning is the key to success. Take your time to work through each step. With My Window of Opportunity’s state-of-the-art interface you can design the best campaign possible.

Making a Successful Campaign

In recent years crowd funding has become one of the easiest means of obtaining capital for inventors, entrepreneurs, and charities alike. Crowd funding works to help raise the funds needed for your new journey or idea by reaching out to the public for financial assistance. Often an incentive is provided to encourage those who are interested in your idea to contribute to your cause. If enough donations are received to meet your campaign’s goal, the money is transferred to your account allowing you to proceed with your ideas.

Plan Your CampaignPlan Your Campaign

A well-planned campaign is critical to your success. Before building your campaign, make sure to:

• Research and develop out a well-thought-out plan.
• Set attainable goals. Try to think in stages, both in tasks and in finances.
• Build a team, delegating responsibilities when applicable. More hands equals less work!

Build Your Community

Social networking is the lifeblood of any crowd funding venture! Reach out to friends and family, tell people about your idea, and create a fan base. This base will become your support structure as you move forward in bringing your idea to reality. Just a word of caution, make sure you protect your idea legally when necessary through patents and trademarks to ensure your idea doesn't fall into the wrong hands.

Create Your Campaign

Now it's time to build your campaign. My Window of Opportunity provides a state-of-the-art interface to create and manage as many teams and campaigns as you need. And, unlike other crowd funding sites that require you to ask for the full amount of contributions needed up-front, My Window of Opportunity allows you to split your campaign into up to three phases. No more waiting for a fully-successful campaign before you can begin. Now you can receive funds from one phase while collecting donations on another.

Setting Your Financial Goals

Setting your financial goalsWith your campaign split into separate phases, it is now time to determine just how much money you need to complete each phase. Start by determining what the minimum amount of funds each phase needs. Then, you will need to pad the goal a little, but not too much. The goal is to ensure you cover any expenses during the campaign process. *You can learn more about the costs of crowd funding by reading Pricing & Fees.

So, when setting your financial goals, be honest. You are more likely to reach your goals if donors know they can trust you are asking only for what you need.

Gauging your Audience

A new innovation to help you measure your audience's interest, found only on My Window of Opportunity, is the ability to do a "Discovery Phase" before you launch your campaign. Now you have the tools needed to see if enough people are interested in supporting your idea before you even begin asking for donations. Potential donors are able to read your campaign proposal, rate it with up to 5 stars, and even leave you personal comments about your idea. And when you feel you have enough donors interested, simply launch the campaign.

Running a Campaign

Running a campaignEach phase lasts for 30 days. At the end of the allotted timeline any funds donated to your campaign will be transferred to your bank account or credit card.

Donors will also look for updates from you from time to time. Keep them engaged by utilizing your campaign's timeline.

Spread the Word

A successful crowd funding does not simply happen by chance, but is directly related to the size of your social network. Spread the word, get others excited about your idea, and ask for their support. Social networks are the key to any campaign, so utilize them to ensure a successful campaign.
